Artificial Turf Rules
Rules for Artificial Turf Fields:
As we head into an exciting new Fall season, it is important that we make you aware of the rules the City has provided us for use of the new synthetic turf fields. The City expects to have monitors at the fields and it is important that we all follow the following rules at all times:
1.
Only players, coaches, officials, and field monitors are allowed on the field of play. Parents and family members may sit in the bleachers or outside of the fence, but may not be on the turf fields.
2.
No metal cleats or spikes. Plastic or rubber cleats must be no longer than 3⁄4”. All footwear must be cleaned prior to entering the field.
3.
Water Only!!! No other drinks allowed (i.e. no gatorade, sports drinks, fruit punch, etc.). Water bottles are ok, but must be thrown in the trash after use.
4.
Absolutely no food allowed on the turf (i.e. no sunflower seeds, no gum, no peanuts, etc.). People eating food should not enter the turf fields.
5.
Absolutely no furnishing allowed on the turf. That includes no tables, chairs, canopies, tents, goals with spikes, or other similar items.
6.
No pets.
7.
No field markings of any sort.
8.
No bicycles or vehicles are allowed on the turf fields, except those operated by City personnel.
9.
Goals may only be moved under direct supervision of the field monitor.
10.
No field markings of any sort.
11.
No smoking anywhere on park grounds.
12.
We must follow the directions of the City assigned field monitors at all times.
13.
No outside locks will be permitted on field gates.
14.
Failure to comply with any of the field rules WILL result in the City revoking permitting privileges.
Contrary to our region’s normal rules, on the synthetic turf fields, both teams should be on the same side of the field. Home side parents and family members should be in the bleachers to the north or west and visitors should be in the bleachers to the south or east. Players and coaches should remain in the field area by their bleachers for full-length games. For half-field games, home players and coaches should be north or west of the permanent goals and away players and coaches should be south or east of the permanent goals.
